My name is Sam (“ofdarkhope,” or aka “The Madness”) and I’m just your typical nerd, husband, and father. Aren’t we cute?!
I currently work as an IT Audit Manager, hold the CISSP and CISA certifications, have a bachelors degree in software engineering from Arizona State University, and also teach ethical hacking as an adjunct professor at a local community college. In my spare time, I tinker around with all sorts of IT-related and software/scripting projects. I don’t claim to be an expert or a guru in anything, but I want to document my journey into, and through, tech on this site/blog. My goal is share as much of my learning process that I can so that it will be of use to others.
My philosophy is that technology should help people, whether it’s making you more efficient with your job, keeping your privacy safe, or allowing you to stay connected with family and friends. That’s not to say that I believe technology is always the answer, doesn’t have flaws (those in the security realm know this all too well), or that everything should be automated. However, we have these tools available and they should be utilized where it makes sense.
